Association of Polish Electrical Engineers, also abbreviated to SEP, is a non-government organization of the scientific and technical character acting in favor of public and social utility. SEP is a voluntary association of electricians of all specialties as well as legal entities interested in SEP operations.
Circle no 38 acts in PKE SA Jaworzno III Power Plant and it is a part of the local SER organizational section, namely the Coal Basin Division.

SEP Circle no 38 numbers 144 members (as at May 1, 2011).
The following Management Board runs the Circle in the tenure 2010-2014:

SEP Circle no 38 operations insist in:
1)    promoting socially useful utilization of electricity in order to support the economic development of the city and the entire Silesian region,
2)    initiating and supporting scientific and technical creativity in all fields of electrics and related fields; popularizing electrics, its history and scientists – especially Polish ones,
3)    acting in favor of the power economy in the field of generation, processing and utilization of fuel and electrical energy types as well as operation of the facilities, installations and the grid,
4)    acting in favor of the IT  and telecommunication systems and the information technology society development,
5)    influencing the quality of the electrical products, materials and services and popularizing and protection of the consumer rights; popularizing of the safe and reasonable utilization of electrics and electrical energy products,
6)    continuous improvement of professional qualifications and building the professional ethics of electrical engineers,
7)    promoting technical and ecologic culture in the society, protection of the natural environment and energy conservation,
8)    integrating the society and establishing friendly bonds among the members,
9)    developing contacts and cooperation between societies inclusive of the regional power engineers organizations,
10)    preserving the profession and protecting the interests of SEP members.

The Circle executes its duties and tasks, above all, by means of:

1)    investigating the scientific and technical, organizational issues, drawing up motions and claims concerning electrics on the level of the power plant and PKE SA, expressing opinions,
2)    cooperating with self-governments and professional organizations as well as authorities, institutions, public organizations, scientific, economic and educational chambers and associations,
3)    providing SEP members access to scientific and technical information and modern IT technologies,
4)    participation in trainings and courses in the field of widely comprehended electrics,
5)    organization of meetings, presentations, discussions, exhibitions, competitions, excursions, technical advice and club activities,
6)    solicitude for the professional conduct,
7)    promotion of employment and activating electricians in danger of being laid-off, organizing and giving ‘buddy-aid’,
8)    undertaking action in case of SEP members’ professional and material interest breach,
9)    filing motions concerning awards and decorations for SEP members.
