Jaworzno III Power Plant has been distinguished with multiple awards and decorations confirming its achievement in the field of natural environment protection.
Among others, there are those awarded by Dziennik Zachodni editorial staff and Katowice Division of Business Center Club:
- the title of “Platinum Company’ and ‘Gold Company’ in 1996 for profitability and expenses incurred on natural environment protection,
- nomination for the main award of Polish Business Leader in 1999.
The same year, PKE SA Jaworzno III Power Plant was nominated by the President of the Polish Republic Economic Award Chapter in the category Polish Enterprise of 1999.
The involvement of the plant staff in the environment protection in 2000 was confirmed with the Ekoprofit publishing house award ‘Quality for the Environment’.
In 2001 and 2004 Jaworzno III Power Plant was given the award called ‘Pantheon of Polish Ecology’ from the Minister of Natural Environment and the Polish Centre for Testing and Certification.
Jaworzno III Power Plant was awarded twice, in 2004 and 2009, with the Silesian Quality Award. This award objective is to integrate the economic milieu, promote achievements, enterprises, institutions educational and healthcare establishments which pursue the idea of continuous improvement. The superior objective is to promote modern philosophy of Management through Quality and to promote leaders who put this idea into reality.
In 2004 and 2005, Jaworzno III Power Plant was distinguished with the title of White Tiger Laurel as the producer, distributor and a company which implements new solutions in favor of Polish power industry and society. The distinction was awarded for innovative products and solutions in the field of work organization, marketing and services, ecology and natural environment protection. These awards were given for the method of high-temperature corrosion reduction in pulverized coal boiler screens and the treatment and combustion technology of meat and bone meal applied in Jaworzno III Power Plant – Power Plant II.
In November 2009, the Energy Promotion Agency with the editorial staff of ‘Energy’ magazine distinguished Jaworzno III Power Plant with the White Tiger Laurel of Polish Power Industry Energy 2009. This time the plant was awarded for the modernization of the flue gas desulphurizing installation, construction of the third line of FGD installation for power units 3 and 4 and for the erection of slag settling tank.
In 2009 we were awarded with the Gold Laurel for Skills and Competences by the Regional Economic Chamber in Katowice in the category ‘Polish enterprise’. The idea behind the award is to promote entrepreneurship -people and their companies for achieving economic success yet still being capable of sharing this success via social activity in their milieu and supporting local initiatives.
