Quality Management System in the Prevention, Diagnostics and Technical Documentation Department in Jaworzno III Power Plant
Prevention and Diagnostics Laboratory functions in the Prevention, Diagnostics and Technical Documentation Department of Jaworzno III Power Plant.
The laboratory carries out tests in a manner meeting requirements stipulated in the international norm PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 which was confirmed by the Office of Technical Inspection.
On June 6, 2001 our laboratory was granted the Certificate of Approval of the 2nd level no's LB-125/12 and LBU-125/12 issued by the Central Laboratory of the Technical Inspection acknowledging the competence in the execution of the below listed tests:
- ultrasonic tests of metallurgical products
- ultrasonic tests of welded joints
- ultrasonic defectoscope measurements of thickness
- ultrasonic measurements of thickness with thickness meter
- magnetic and particle tests
- penetration tests
- hardness measurements with portable hardness tester
- chemical composition tests using steeloscope method
- macroscopic tests
- microscopic tests
- measuring geometrical parameters
- visual tests
Tests carried out by our laboratories are basis for the assessment of the facilities technical conditions, level of the material exploitation, determining forecast of the further exploitation and they support the repair scheduling.
Jaworzno III Power Plant is also authorized to repair steam boilers, water boilers and permanent pressure tanks pursuant to the decision of the Office of Technical Inspection no UC-12-63-N/3-09.
Chemical Analyses Department - Testing Laboratory
Chemical Analyses Department in PKE SA Jaworzno III Power Plant, subordination of which is in line with the organizational sachem in force and the PKE SA Organization Regulations provides services mainly for the power plant itself, for other power plants comprising Południowy Koncern Energetyczny and for external clients.
Four different management systems function in the Chemical Analyses Department: Integrated Management System, Management System in accordance with norm PN-EN-ISO/IEC 17025, Assessment Conformity System for the Fly Ash used in the production of concrete in accordance with the norm PN-EN 450-1 and EMAS.
Chemical Analyses Department Chemical Laboratory in PKE SA Jaworzno III Power Plant was granted the Accreditation Certificate no AB 688 in June 2006 issued by the Polish Center for Accreditation.
Management system is applicable in part of the Chemical Analyses Department regarding the accommodation and employees located in Power Plant III and Power Plant II. Analyses from the scope of accredited tests are carried out in Power Plant III laboratory located at 51 Promienna Street and in Power Plant II laboratory situated at 15 Energetyków Street.
Testing laboratory carries out certain range of tests in PKE SA Jaworzno III Power Plant Chemical Analyses Department with the management system in force. The main objective of the Chemical Analyses Department is to carry our chemical and physical tests ensuring minimizing harmful impact of chemical factors on the generation process in PKE SA power plants and heat and power plants. Testing laboratory executes tests for the needs of the internal client i.e. PKE SA Jaworzno III Power Plant and the external client i.e. other power plant and heat and power plants incorporated in Południowy Koncern Energetyczny as well as clients outside PKE SA.
The laboratory cooperates with other units of similar profile in order to exchange experiences, work jointly on the research problem solving and to improve the quality of services.
The scope of accredited tests encompasses:
- Water and wastewater – pH, specific electrical conductivity, total hardness, dissociated silica, chlorides, iron, suspensions, dissolved substances, phosphorus compounds, ammonia nitrogen, chemical oxygen demand (COD), heavy metals – in accordance with the regulation on the quality of potable water and wastewater, fluorine, sodium and potassium compounds
- Solid fuels – transient moisture, analytic moisture, ash, total sulphur, combustion heat, heating value, volatile parts, total carbon
- Furnace wastes – free calcium oxide CaO, total carbon in furnace wastes, loss on ignition (flammable parts)
- Fly ash used in the production of concrete in accordance with the requirements of norm PN-EN-450-1 - loss on ignition, fineness marking, chlorides, SO3 , Reactive CaO, Reactive SiO2, determination of alkali content, MgO, phosphate content, sum of Al2O3+Fe2O3+SiO2, flammable parts in furnace wastes, insoluble parts, Ca
- Gypsum – moisture, (40 0C), CaSO4 x 2H2O, CaCO3, chlorides, iron, aluminum, magnesium, heavy metals, silica + insoluble parts, water extract pH, granulation, sodium, potassium,
- Carbonate sorbent – moisture, CaCO3, chlorides, iron, aluminum, sodium, potassium,
Other analyses carried out in the Chemical Analyses Department are as follow:
- Water and wastewater - Bzt5, phenols, carbonate hardness, non-carbonate hardness, calcium hardness, hydrazine content, phosphates content (small volumes), sulphite content , dissolved mineral and volatile substances content, oxidability of KMnO4
- Fuels and furnace wastes – Total carbon analyses, analyses of biomass for power generation purposes.
- Gypsum and sorbent: sulphite content, sorbent and gypsum whiteness, magnesium in the water extract from gypsum, heavy metals in the sorbent, sorbent granulation.
Chemical Analyses Department executes also the following analyses: sediments in boiler pipes, turbine and transformer lubricants, sediments from the water treatment plant, carbonization waste.
Thanks to the accreditation, the Laboratory can provide services for external clients.
All services provided for the external clients are carried out based on orders or contracts and are priced in accordance with the approved price list.
